THE WORLD’S QUIETEST PETROL-POWERED LEAF BLOWER
Husqvarna 356BTX-series cleans up, in more ways than one.
”This
is the world’s quietest petrol-powered leaf blower. Even though
it has the lowest noise levels on the market, the air speed is still
among the highest in its class.”
Göran
Gusthalin at Husqvarna is convinced. The 356BTX-SERIES is radically
different from other products on the market, in terms of noise level.
”The
basic principle behind all machines that are used in public spaces must
be to minimise noise emissions through dampening and insulation.
We’ve achieved this in the new blower, which is actually the
world’s quietest petrol-powered blower”, explains
Göran Gusthalin, Product Manager at Husqvarna AB.
Quiet in the cemetery
The
machine has been built strong, to withstand tough treatment and
frequent transport. It was designed for professionals and others whose
daily work involves clearing away leaves, hedge clippings or rubbish in
gardens or public spaces.
This can be about cleaning up
in everything from parks and sports grounds to car parks or, with the
new Husqvarna blower, cemeteries where it’s desirable to keep
noise levels at a minimum.
”But the
machine’s quiet operation is not the only important aspect. Its
design and ergonomics are just as significant”, Gusthalin points
out.
Keeping large areas in good condition often means
long shifts of work. For this reason, the blower’s integrated
harness features wide, padded straps to avoid placing too much load on
one point on the body. ”Also, the front handle has a unique
placement, to reduce the static load on the user during
operation”, he adds.
Like a conversation
The
Husqvarna 356BTX-SERIES has a unique position on the market. Compared
to the competition, this blower is in another league altogether when it
comes to noise levels. This is a low-noise machine with a sound profile
that firstly is far softer than other similar machines and secondly,
has been measured at
64 dB at 15 metres (measured in
accordance with ANSI 175.2), which is actually not much higher than the
level of an ordinary conversation.
High air speed and high air flow
”Some
people think that if it doesn’t make a lot of noise, then
it’s not doing the job. But that’s not true. This blower
has the lowest noise levels on the market, but in tests it has recorded
high figures for air speed and air flow, compared to similar competitor
machines. So in fact it lives up to higher demands than what the user
expects it to do”, explains Gusthalin.
High air
speed is essential, particularly when clearing wet areas where wet
leaves tend to stick to the ground. High air flow is also important,
for instance when large piles of leaves, rubbish or hedge clippings
have to be moved.
Low-emission engines
The
blower is worn on a backpack, and features newly-developed engine
technology. Namely, a low-emission engine with exhaust emissions below
the limits prescribed in the latest regulations from the US, CARB II,
and all other known levels up to the year 2011. It also has efficient
air filtration, to reduce the strain on the engine. ”Blowers are
often used in dusty environments, so we’ve fitted the Husqvarna
356BTX-SERIES with Air Injection, our patented air filtration system
that removes dirt and particles from the air by up to 97%, before the
intake air reaches the filter. A smart feature that also means longer
intervals between filter cleanings”.
